How resumefix handles your data
We process resumes, job descriptions, billing, and support data only to provide the optimized output you requested, keep purchases in sync, and resolve your questions efficiently.
What we collect
You supply a resume (PDF, Word, plain text, or pasted content) and a job description or URL so we can understand your background and focus the rewrite for the role you care about.
We also collect account, purchase, and support metadata to verify purchases, respond to questions, and honor your billing preferences.
- Uploaded resume text and formatting data while the optimization is in progress.
- Job description text or parsed data from a job URL so we can prioritize the right skills.
- Stripe, billing, and support metadata captured when you buy credits or open a ticket from the account page.
How we use it
The data powers the AI rewrite, content quality checks, and any downstream export formats you request.
It also helps us detect abuse, monitor service reliability, and keep purchases, credits, and support follow-up in sync.
- Resume and job text are processed in memory, rewritten, and optionally kept for saved history when you choose to retain a draft.
- Support tickets automatically attach billing and Stripe context to give agents the right purchase state while they troubleshoot.
- Operational telemetry (errors, response times, low-confidence extraction counts) stays aggregated to improve extraction quality without exposing personal data.
Retention and minimization
Raw resume and job text exist only long enough to parse, optimize, and deliver the result. When the optimization finishes we redact `originalText`, reduce stored `jobDescription`, and only keep the parts needed for a saved history entry if you explicitly save it.
Saved history items expire automatically when their save window ends, and you can delete them manually using the account controls. Unused uploads and temporary files are purged shortly after completion.
- Saved histories stay until you delete them or the configured retention window ends; they include the optimized resume plus minimal metadata.
- Account exports and deletion requests trigger backend workflows that send you your data or remove it from Convex storage on your behalf.
Your choices
From the account page you can download your profile, purge saved resumes, request account deletion, or ask support to remove any remaining data you do not want us to retain.
If you want to question a billing charge or follow up on a support ticket, replies remain attached to the same billing metadata we already collect so the conversation stays contextual.
