How resumefix handles your data
We process resumes, job descriptions, billing, and support data only to provide the optimized output you requested, keep purchases in sync, and resolve your questions efficiently.
What we collect
You supply a resume (PDF, Word, plain text, or pasted content) and a job description or URL so we can understand your background and focus the rewrite for the role you care about.
We also collect account, purchase, and support metadata to verify purchases, respond to questions, and honor your billing preferences.
- Uploaded resume text and formatting data while the optimization is in progress.
- Job description text or parsed data from a job URL so we can prioritize the right skills.
- Billing and support metadata captured when you buy credits or open a ticket from the account page.
How we use it
Your data powers the resume rewrite, cover letter generation, quality checks, and the PDF/Word/TXT exports you download.
It also helps us detect abuse, monitor reliability, and keep purchases, credits, and support in sync.
- Resume and job text are processed, rewritten, and optionally saved to history if you choose to keep a copy.
- Support tickets auto-attach your billing context so we can resolve issues without back-and-forth.
- Operational telemetry (errors, response times) stays aggregated. No personal data is exposed.
Retention and minimization
Raw resume and job text exist only long enough to parse, optimize, and deliver the result. When the optimization finishes we redact `originalText`, reduce stored `jobDescription`, and only keep the parts needed for a saved history entry if you explicitly save it.
Saved history items expire automatically when their save window ends, and you can delete them manually using the account controls. Unused uploads and temporary files are purged shortly after completion.
- Saved items stay until you delete them or the retention window ends. They include the generated resume and cover letter plus minimal metadata.
- Data export and account deletion requests are processed automatically. We send you your data or remove it on your behalf.
Your choices
From the account page you can download your data, delete saved resumes, or request full account deletion.
Billing follow-ups stay attached to your existing account context so we can resolve issues without asking for the same details twice.
